Assam and Arunachal Cultural Tour 7N & 8D

In this trip we will explore some places of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh of North East India. Culturally, Arunachal Pradesh is one of richest and most beautiful destinations in North East India where we will still find a lot of the aged old living traditions. Apart from Arunachal, This tour will also take you to the World's Largest river Island - Majuli on the banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra in Assam. Itinerary

Day 1 : Guwahati

Meet a Alder Tour representative at Guwahati and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2 : Guwahati-Nameri [4/5 hrs]

Today we shall drive to Nameri National Park. On arrival check into to your lodge. Later we shall visit Pigmy Hook conservation Centre, the smallest species of pig! We shall also visit Mishing tribal villages and Boro tribal villages as well etc.

Day 3 : Nameri– Ziro [275 km /8-9 hrs]

Today after breakfast we shall drive toward Ziro valley the home town of Apatani people of Arunachal. Enroute you will pass through Nishi Tribal villages, on reaching Ziro check into hotel and overnight stay.

Ziro is located in the lower Subansiri District, at an elevation of 1688m above sea level. Ziro is home to the Apatani people, a non-nomadic, agrarian tribe. The Apatani people are environmentally conscious community who practice wetland cultivation, instead of the dry land one, which involves the burning of the forest. The paddy farms in this region serves dual purpose as the farmers rears fish simultaneously using traditional irrigation techniques to rear fish in knee deep water. The UNESCO has even proposed for the Apatani culture landscape’s inclusion to the list of World Heritage site for the tribe’s high agricultural productivity and unique conservation practices.

Day 4 : Ziro

Today we shall explore Apatani villages like- Hong village, Hijo Village, Hari Village etc where we shall meet local ladies with plucked nose, visit their ritual site, their local houses etc

Today we will explore the villages of the Apatani Tribes, there are several villages in the Apatani Valley but the most popular are Hong Village, Hari Village, Hija village and Bulla village, we will also visit the paddy fields, Apatanis are famous for their rice cultivation process. After lunch we will attend a traditional dance of the Apatani tribes.

Day 5 : Ziro –Majuli Island [220 km - 8 hrs]

Morning drive towards Majuli the river Island, take a local ferry. Depending on the timing of arrival we shall visit Mishing village, visit Satras, meet masks maker, enter local house for a sip of local drink/ tea etc.

Day 6 : Majuli

Today we shall visit Mishing village, visit Satras, meet masks maker, enter local house for a sip of local drink/ tea etc.

Day 7 : Majuli – Dibrugarh [170 km /5-6 hrs]


At leisure we shall take a local ferry to neemathighat. Later drive Dibrugarh. Afternoon is optional

Day 8 : Dibrugarh - Fly out

Morning after breakfast we shall drive to Dibrugarh airport and connect your flight at 8:00 am for onward journey.
