DAY 1 : DIBRUGARH - SIBSAGAR (77 KM 2HRS)

Meet a representative at Dibrugarh airport and surface transfer to Sibsagar. Sibsagar is known for monuments and sites that dates back to the Kingdom of Ahom. Check into Hotel. Explore Sibsagar historical monuments and sites.

DAY 2 : SIBSAGAR- MON (120KM/ 5/6 HRS)

Today after breakfast with packed lunch we shall drive from the plain to the hills. Mon, the home town of the Konyak Nagas who are known for their tattoo culture, wood carving skills, gun-making, etc. The land of the Konyak Nagas (Mon) is also regarded as the “Land of Anhg”. Enroute visit Mon village, where we can have a basic idea of the Konyak Naga world!

DAY 3 : MON

Today we shall visit Longwa which is the border village between Burma and India. One of the interesting thing about this village is that the international boundary line runs right through the Anhg’s house. The Angh eat in Nagaland and sleeps in Burma! Explore the village. Meet the local people. Lunch. Post lunch drive to Shangkhachingnyu village where we will see local craftsmen and war trophies.

DAY 4 : MON

Today we shall drive to Chenmoho village where we will see people with tattooed faces, explore the village. Next proceed to Chui village where one can see the ethnic Konyak way of constructing their houses with thatch roof and one peculiar feature of their houses is the main pillars jutting out of the roof. One may also expect to see local weavers/craftsmen.

DAY 5 : MON - MOKOCHUNG (180KM 8/9 HRS)

Today after breakfast we shall drive to the Ao Naga country. Enroute we shall halt over at Lenden to see the bamboo mat making, by the locals. Next stop will be at Chuchuyimlang village. Further drive to Mokokchung, the home town of the AoNagas.

DAY 6 : MOKOKCHUNG

Today we shall explore some Ao Naga villages. Visit Museum at Impur village, See the oldest church in Nagaland. Next visit Mopungchuket village where you will understand the legend of 'life cycle' believed by the Ao’s which are depicted on wooden pillars.

Lunch. Post lunch drive to Aliba village where we will see, perhaps one of the biggest log drum in Nagaland. Next we proceed to Chungtia village, a village that bears witness of the Ao Naga tradition having a Machang - a seating platform which is predominantly made of bamboo.

DAY 7 : MOKOKCHUNG - TUOPHEMA (120KM/5 hrs)

After breakfast, we shall drive to Tuophema village. Enroute we shall visit one of the oldest Ao Naga village - Ungma. Legend tells that many present Ao villages migrated from this village. Next proceed to Longkhum village which has being regarded as the vanguard village of the Ao region during head-hunting days. Longkhum is not just a village with past glories but even today the village acts as a model in bio-diversity conservation. Next, we shall have a glimpse of a Lotha Naga village called Longsa, and also Tseminyu village of Rengma tribe.

DAY 8 : TUOPHEMA

Tuophema happens to be the first village in Nagaland having a successful story in community base tourism.

Morning walk round the village. Lunch at Gariphema village. Post lunch explore Gariphema village and drive back to Tuophema.

DAY 9 : TUOPHEMA - KOHIMA (45KM/1½ hrs)

Today we drive to Kohima the Capital city of Nagaland. On our way we will visit the State Museum. While exploring Kohima village where we can see remains of Second World War, ceremonial gates. Lunch. Check in to your Hotel. Post lunch visit World War II cemetery.

DAY 10 : KOHIMA

Morning we shall drive to Jakhama village (16km away from Kohima) and explore the village where we will see some rich men’s houses. We shall also explore the traditional lifestyle of the Angami Nagas in a nutshell. Next visit Kigwema village and Kisama the Heritage complex where the annual Hornbill festival takes place. Lunch at Kohima. Post Lunch visit sales emporium/souvenir shops and local market where you'll get to see local vegetables, insects and worms, etc, for food by the Naga people.

DAY 11 : KOHIMA- KHONOMA (20 KMS/ 1 HR)

Morning after breakfast drive to Khonoma village (20km). Khonoma village has been declared as the first “Green village" in India because of the initiative taken by the village to stop hunting, logging and forest fire. The village has taken an odd step by declaring 27 sqkms of its territory as "Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary" (KNCTS). At Khonoma you will find Culture, History and Nature intact together. As we go through the village we will see ceremonial gates, morung, cairn circles, forts, historical sites, age group house, meet local craftsmen weaving shawls and cane basket. Lunch. Post lunch, We shall get down to see the terrace fields and see how terrace cultivation is being done. Towards the evening we shall witness some indigenous games which will be demonstrated by the local youth and thereafter we shall try the locally prepared brew.

DAY 12 : KHONOMA - MEZOMA - KHONOMA (7KM)

Today we start with a ‘Nature Walk’ towards the area where the local people practice jhum cultivation also known as shifting cultivation. Shifting cultivation is a system which has long been practised by our forefathers since times immemorial and it was recently realized by the local people that it is the most sustainable and scientific way of cultivation along with Alder trees which has some nitrogen fixation properties on the tip of its roots which regenerate the soil. We shall also see the majestic BosFrontalis (Mithun) the state animal of Nagaland.

Next we shall drive for 7km to Mezoma village, followed by a traditional lunch, post lunch explore the village. OPTION - drive back to Khonoma/Stay overnight at Mezoma

DAY 13 : KHONOMA - DIMAPUR (87KM/3 HRS)

We shall drive to Dimapur. Enroute visit Secuma village.

Further proceed to Dimapur to connect your flight/train waving goodbye to the mystic land of the Naga Hills.
